Industry Bounce Back- Post Covid-19

Category General

The year 2020 has been an interesting, albeit challenging year for the South African economy.  When the Corona Virus pandemic hit our shores, many speculations were made in terms of how it would affect us, not only in our personal lives, but also our businesses and financial well-being.

It was only a few months ago when we were forced to remain at home, to isolate and to close our offices, factories and shops.  The entire country came to a halt, and suddenly there was a huge stigma around fear for the future and the well-being of our country.

Now that we are fast approaching the end of the year, it is a huge relief to notice how so many South Africans are bouncing back to life.  Restaurants and shops around the country are re-opening, local and even international tourism seem to be on the come-back.  There is an incredible sense of "hunger" amongst people to return to a sense of normality.

The same "buzz" is being noticed within the commercial and industrial real estate sectors as people are slowly returning to their various places of work.  Working from home, or having to communicate over digital platforms can simply not be compared to the amount of integrated collaboration achieved within a designated place of work.

The industrial industry has also seen exponential activity, regardless of the pandemic.  The need to have a "home" for your business seem ever so strong among so many people.

It is inevitable that our economy will take strain post Covid 19, however based on the "hunger" to return to normality that so many of us are experiencing, it is safe to say that South Africans can, and will survive 2020!
