The SAPOA Convention 2018 was hosted in KwaZulu Natal at the Durban ICC from the 19th to the 21st of June.
The event celebrated property in all its sectors and brought the industry together to reflect on the past year, and more importantly the prospects for the future.
The theme for the event: "The future we create. Imagine the possibilities-" was emphasized through-out the event, especially in the informative talks by stakeholders in the industry.
The convention offered a platform for discussions on the future of property ownership in South Africa, as well as an opportunity for industry stakeholders to exhibit their vision for the future.
A formal gala evening was held to conclude the event, and guests were encoruaged to dress according to the futuristic theme. The decor, stage and outfits worn by attendees were a perfect reflection of this theme.
To conclude the convention, a number of awards were given to journalists and property developers who have contributed to the industry. "The Ballito Junction" won one of the development awards and did the KwaZulu Natal region proud. One of the stand-out properties of the evening, was the "Zeits MOCAA" in the V&A Waterfront, which won a number of awards for its exquisite design and architecture. (Definitely a must-see if you are in Cape Town)
The venue for the next SAPOA Convention has not yet been revealed, although it will be hosted in Gauteng for its 2019 showcase.
